EXCELLENCE – Our performances will reflect our commitment to excellence in all areas of the performing arts while maintaining a moral and wholesome environment.  Although we’re a volunteer organization, we won’t settle for second best and will continue to strive for more training and greater excellence.

INTEGRITY – Just as character is important for an individual, honesty and integrity are vital to our organization.  Children and youth working within an organization that values integrity will develop character traits such as commitment, discipline, dependability, and honesty.

DIVERSITY – We work hard to be a theatre that is considered welcoming and inclusive, reflective of the cultural and racial  diversity in our community, and a demonstration of unity in diversity. We choose to have our differences enrich us rather than divide us.

FUN - Theatre should be fun!  We want our actors, young and old, as well as our audiences, to have fun.   While we're serious about good theatre, we will always have a great time. 

FAMILY – We will honor families in our scheduling and in our theatrical choices.  We encourage direct involvement of each family member’s talents, interests, and abilities.  No rehearsals will be scheduled on Sundays or major family holidays.

TEAMWORK – We are appreciative of the many volunteers from the community working together as a team to present high quality productions.  The teamwork required in theatre builds important life skills in all participants--skills such as decision-making, cooperation, communication, and leadership.

RESPECT – We believe that showing respect is the best way to teach respect.  We expect our cast and crew to show respect to each other, those in authority, and themselves.  We respect our audiences enough to want to always give our best.

LOVE – We will demonstrate love to everyone associated with the Houston Family Arts Center and will share our love for theatre with all who join us on stage or in the audience.  We also have a board that shows kindness and understanding in our dealings with each other and in the decisions we make.
