5.    Seussical (Musical)
Music by STEPHEN FLAHERTY
Lyrics by LYNN AHRENS
Book by LYNN AHRENS and STEPHEN FLAHERTY
Co-conceived by LYNN AHRENS, STEPHEN FLAHERTY, and ERIC IDLE
Based on the Works of DR. SEUSS
Performed through special arrangement with Music Theatre International (MTI)
Directed by Josh Clark
Performs February 24 - March 11, 2012 AT THE BERRY CENTER
Summary: In this fun family musical, Horton tries to protect the inhabitants of Whoville who live on a speck of dust. The large cast includes many characters from the Dr. Seuss books, including the Cat in the Hat, Horton, Gertrude, Mayzie, The Sour Kangaroo, The Wickersham Brothers, Yertle the Turtle, The Grinch, and of course the Whos down in Whoville.  Join us for a fun romp through a child's imagination!  (G)

Please help us with our book drive! In order to become good readers, children need to have books at home to read for pleasure.  However, children living in economically disadvantaged homes typically do not have parents with enough disposable income to spend on children’s books.  In conjunction with our Seussical performances, HFAC is conducting a book drive to collect new and very gently used children’s books.  We are working with Partners in Education, and these books will be given directly to students who attend Title 1 schools in Cy-Fair ISD.

Summary: Mix every Hitchcock movie ever made with a dash of Monty Python and you’ll have an idea of the zaniness of The 39 Steps. A cast of four create over 150 characters onstage complete with a chase atop a train, a fall from a Scottish bridge and an onstage plane crash. Must be seen to be believed. (PG)
